I agree--- I've gone to about 25 500's and all of the Brickyards.  NASCAR ruined the race.  So what about the tires --- that is a big part of the strategy of racing.  They can run on their rims if its racing.

Notice 42 cars were still running at the end (1 out with a blown engine), and blown tires did not cause any wreck.  Sure there were flats, but the drivers were able to control their cars and limp to the pits.

THIS HAPPENED LAST YEAR, TOO!!!--With a "competition caution" in the last several laps that detemined the winner.  As were were driving in, several of us in the car remembered it and wondered if Nascar would do the same thing --well, it returned in spades.

THIS WASN'T A RACE......--IT WAS A PARADE CONTROLLED BY NASCAR--(and I wonder if it is all just for the car sponsor's advertizing.)

It's as fixed as "professional wrestling."   What a waste $85 on a beautiful day.

Sorry IMS, but it's only the 500 for me next year.  NASCAR is rigged.  They've taken the courageous competition out of it.  Perhaps the motorcycles will fill the void, though we do not know who the riders are, yet.

 Amen 2
Thanks for the parade I paid $85.00 (plus the 10 hour road trip and all of it’s expenses) to see at the Brickyard this weekend….you guys sure know racing!

I thought it was a joke when we heard their would be “competition yellows” every 10-15 laps!!!  The only JOKE was what took place at the Brickyard this weekend!

I suspect the “extensive Indy tire testing” amounted to upper-level officials from each organization coming to the track…getting in their hopped-up golf carts…making 3 laps around the track….opening their beers and patting themselves on the back saying “Yep, we got a good thing here….we will make lots of money and no one will have to scrape a car or worry about racing” (insert laughter here),

Seriously guys you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Yeah, you guys screwed up that weekend for me and 200,000 fans.  Keep it up and you will lose this one!

I know this will fall on deaf ears ‘cause the money is rolling in.  But what happened at the Brickyard this weekend, if it continues, will cut into your profits as THERE WAS NO RACING !!!!!

 worst race ever
I have been to the brickyard for 35 races and this was the worst i have ever seen. I spent $340 to take my dad and my two sons (one of them for the first time) to see this junk. Why should i go back next year or turn my sons in race fans.  Goodyear and nascar should refund everyone.

2008 brickyard was a flop, won't be back!
They should change the "competition yellow" to "yellow competition", thats all it was.  Nobody will ever give a refund.

If I wanted to see heat races I would have gone to the local track.  Much better racing!  I've only missed 1 brickyard to date, doubt I'll (we) attend another, there was 10 in my party.  No wonder they've dropped from 300,000 to 200,000 attending.

 F-1 1 Nascar 1
This was the worst excuss for a "race" that I've ever seen. If I would have saved my money and been at home watching on tv, I would've changed the channel and not looked back.
Goodyear, Nascar, and IMS had an opportunity several months ago to test tires and to be prepared for this event. Obviously it didn't happen. But, they don't care, because they've gotten what they are here for, and that's our hard-earned money. With the costs of everything going up, you would think that for $85 seats plus the time and gas to get to the track we should be able to expect a quality professional sporting event. But it fell way short of that.
Thank goodness I live locally. I feel sorry for the hundreds if not thousands of people who flew in or drove several hours to get to this specticle.
This display is no different than the F1 incident. Goodyear especially dropped the ball on this, and the fans deserve some type of retribution for the poor performance this weekend.
If it's not made right, then you wiill have proven yourselves as money-hungry crooks.

A extremely dissapointed fan,

 awful race..
I have been to many race's and this wasn't a race it was a NASCAR Parade.  I understand doing competion cautions early in th race. But by the 100 lap mark the teams knew what they were dealing with at that point it should have been turned back over to them to deal with. Let the teams race, they are supposidly the best drivers in the world Has there ever before been a race with NO GREENFLAG PIT STOPS..  This debacle had absolutely no strategy and I believe Goodyear and NASCAR should do what they can to refund the fans that attended this mess.

 All about the $$$$$$$$$
Why not let the teams race?  Let them choose which tire they like, not limit it to 1 mfg. much less 1 tire compound.  If they can squeeze out 2% more HP, so be it.

 Waste of $600
NASCAR lost a lot of potential fans yesterday. This will be one of those moments that people point to when they decided that they were no longer interested in this sport. Kinda like the strike in major league baseball years back.

I took my wife and two friends to the race. Not only did NASCAR lose a shot at gaining 2 fans (our guests), but my wife flat out said there will be no more Brickyards for our family. I was willing to forgive and forget, but she is demanding a refund.

I think I will wait a few years before going to another race. I used to go to Michigan twice a year, Chicago and Bristol once, and other tracks when I had the chance.

With the COT, all the real racing is gone. They burned Toyota for having ingenuity, and now it's just like IROC.

NASCAR needs to remember how it got to where it is today. Shops used to find ways to make a car go faster. Now they spend all their time trying to make sure they are within spec. Forget specs! Let the boys tinker! Old time racing in NASCAR is gone for good, and it's a damn shame.

Wake up Mike Helton!!!

 refund
sign my petition to get our money back. in 2005, the F1 fans received a refund because of bad tyres and the cars.
